Brayden Lucus (last name withheld) was born at 4:48pm on the 28th of March, 2003. My son. It wasn't a difficult labor. I arrived at the hospital at 7 in the morning the same day to be induced, but I had already been getting strong consistent contractions for the past two days. An hour after they used Cytotec to induce me, I decided to take a nice warm shower. My water broke ten minutes later. The contractions started coming on hard. I was stubborn and refused medication. At 2pm, I couldn't take the pain anymore. I was 7 cms dilated, and asked for pain medication. I refused an epidural. So they gave me pain medication that would last two hours. I figured I would be pushing by then already. I was right. At exactly 4pm, I felt the urge to push. I told the nurses, and the doctor okayed me to start pushing. I didn't think that pushing had any effect on the baby coming out at all, because it really didn't feel like it. It started to get painful, and I think I said "I'm not pushing anymore, I'm tired. I can't do it." But the doctor said "One more push". And she was right. One more push and he was out. They cleared his nasal passages, and the rest of him slipped out easily.
